Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make chocolate covered strawberries? Prepare your food. Take fresh, large strawberries; the tastiest dessert will come from seasonal, aromatic berries. Chocolate is suitable in any form — slabs, drops or coins, like mine. I used milk and white, it will work great with dark and bitter, but this is not an acquired taste. The main thing is that it is natural and of high quality. Be sure to use odorless oil so that it is not noticeable in the glaze.

Step 2

Step 2
Rinse the strawberries under cold running water directly in a colander. Leave the berries in it to drain off excess liquid. Do not tear off the tails; they will be convenient for holding the dessert while eating.

Step 3

Step 3
Then lay the strawberries out on a paper towel to dry. Additionally, wipe each berry — excess moisture will prevent the chocolate from covering the strawberries evenly. Place the dry berries on a plate in one layer and put them in the freezer for 10-15 minutes — the chocolate glaze will harden faster on cooled berries and will not drip.

Step 4

Step 4
Melt the chocolate. This can be done in a water bath or in the microwave. I heated it in the microwave. How to melt chocolate in the microwave? Place it in a suitable container. Place in the microwave at maximum power, set the time to 20 seconds (or more, depending on the model and power). Take out the chocolate, stir and heat again, but for 10 seconds. This time will be enough.

Step 5

Step 5
Stir the chocolate until smooth. Pour vegetable oil into it — it will make the glaze more liquid and easier to work with. Melt white chocolate in the same way.

Step 6

Step 6
For decoration, place a couple of spoons of each type of chocolate in pastry bags.

Step 7

Step 7
Remove the strawberries from the freezer. Place the berry on a wooden skewer. Dip it into melted chocolate; the tip and tail can be left bare. Place glazed berries on a board covered with parchment.

Step 8

Step 8
Cover all the berries in this way, half with dark chocolate, half with white.

Step 9

Step 9
Decorate the berries with stripes of chocolate in a contrasting color, squeezing it out of bags with the ends cut off. You can also sprinkle them with crushed nuts, coconut flakes, freeze-dried berries, or confectionery sprinkles. Place the board with strawberries in the refrigerator to completely stabilize the glaze (10 minutes is enough).
