Ingredients (6 portions)

Basic:

Sugar 2 tbsp
Apples 2 pc
Cinnamon 1 tsp
Butter 50 g
Walnuts 0.5 cup
Raisin 1 cup
Powdered sugar 1 tbsp
Lavash thin (1 piece) 40 g
Jam 3 tbsp

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
Wash the apples, remove seeds (you don’t have to peel them) and cut into small pieces as desired.

Step 2

Step 2
Fry the resulting apple pieces with sugar until the juice releases and turns golden. Fry for 10 – 12 minutes. Do not leave the mixture on the fire for a long time. It shouldnʼt turn into puree.

Step 3

Step 3
Add jam (any jam to your taste) to the apples, stir and simmer for about five more minutes. Sort the raisins, rinse, steam, cool and dry. Sort the nuts and chop them (crush or cut them into pieces).

Step 4

Step 4
Place the pita bread on a work surface, grease one side with half a portion of butter.

Step 5

Step 5
Place prepared apples, raisins, and nuts. Smooth the filling over the entire surface of the pita bread, sprinkle with cinnamon (if desired, cinnamon can be replaced with vanilla or citrus zest).

Step 6

Step 6
Carefully roll the pita bread into a roll without pressing or squeezing. Grease the top of the roll with the remaining butter. Transfer the resulting roll to the prepared baking sheet. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. Sprinkle the cooled strudel with powdered sugar. By the way, it will also be very tasty if you use honey and Nutella instead of sugar and butter, respectively: the taste is completely different, but also delicious!

Step 7

Step 7
Cut the finished strudel into portions and serve with tea, coffee, or milk. Bon appetit!
