Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a jellied pie from kefir batter? Quite simple and fast. First, prepare the necessary ingredients. It’s better to start cooking with the filling.

Step 2

Step 2
Grate the cheese on a coarse or medium grater. You can use any cheese, even soft cheese, such as processed cheese. I have an ordinary Russian one.

Step 3

Step 3
Hard boil the eggs, cool and peel. Grate the eggs on a coarse grater.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the garlic and pass it through a press.

Step 5

Step 5
In a bowl, combine grated cheese, eggs and garlic. If you wish, you can add boiled rice to the filling to make the pie more filling, as well as mayonnaise or sour cream and chopped fresh herbs.

Step 6

Step 6
Salt, pepper and mix everything. The filling is ready.

Step 7

Step 7
Now prepare the ingredients for the dough. Use premium flour. Kefir is suitable for any fat content, but keep in mind that the exact amount of flour depends on the moisture content and fat content of kefir. I have kefir with a fat content of 3.2%.

Step 8

Step 8
Combine eggs with kefir, soda and salt. Mix thoroughly until smooth.

Step 9

Step 9
Add the sifted flour little by little. If necessary, add a little more flour little by little.

Step 10

Step 10
Stir, breaking up any lumps. Focus on the consistency of the dough. It should be semi-viscous and fluid. In this case, the filling should remain on the surface and not sink.

Step 11

Step 11
Line a baking pan (Ø 18 cm) with parchment and grease it with vegetable oil (if you have a silicone pan, you don’t need to grease it with anything). Pour half of the dough into the mold.

Step 12

Step 12
Spread the egg and cheese filling on top.

Step 13

Step 13
Pour the remaining dough on top. Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180°C for 30-35 minutes. The exact baking time depends on your oven.

Step 14

Step 14
Place the finished cheese pie on a plate, cut into pieces and serve. Bon appetit!
