Cherry Kefir Pie: Simple and Delicious

Lush, aromatic, made from ordinary products, very tasty! Kefir pie in the oven with cherries is prepared very simply and quickly, but despite this, it rises and bakes well. Its crumb is like a wet sponge cake, and cherries add juiciness and brightness to the taste.

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a kefir pie in the oven with cherries? Prepare your food. If the cherries are frozen, remove them from the refrigerator in advance, and remove the pits from fresh ones. Kefir is suitable for any fat content, but it is better if it is at room temperature.

Step 2

Step 2
Place the cherries in a sieve to drain excess liquid, otherwise it will soak the dough in the pie.

Step 3

Step 3
Beat the eggs into a bowl. Be sure to wash your eggs before using them, as even seemingly clean shells can harbor harmful bacteria. It is best to use food grade detergents and a brush. Start beating them with a mixer, gradually adding sugar. You can reduce the amount of sugar according to your taste.

Step 4

Step 4
Beat the eggs until fluffy and light. Then pour kefir into them and mix it well at low speed.

Step 5

Step 5
Add baking powder to the flour and mix them well.

Step 6

Step 6
Sift the flour into the bowl with the egg mixture. This will saturate it with oxygen, which will make the cake fluffier and better. Mix the ingredients until smooth; a hand whisk will suffice.

Step 7

Step 7
Next, look at the consistency of the dough — if it is liquid, then add more flour. This will depend on the thickness of kefir, the size of the eggs, and the properties of the flour. Add it a tablespoon at a time, then mix well. The dough should be like pancakes, thick but fluid. In addition to the glass according to the recipe, I added two more heaped tablespoons.

Step 8

Step 8
Take a suitable baking dish (I used a round one, 20cm in diameter). Grease it with a small piece of butter. Pour the dough into the mold. Place cherries on top.

Step 9

Step 9
Bake the pie in the oven, preheated to 180°C, for 35-45 minutes. The exact time will depend on the features of your oven. Check readiness with a wooden stick — it will come out dry from the center.

Step 10

Step 10
Serve the pie by sprinkling powdered sugar on top. Bon appetit!
