Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake sweet potatoes with chicken in the oven? Very simple. To do this, you first need to prepare the ingredients according to the list. Choose large, smooth sweet potatoes without damage to the skin. Turn on the oven to 200 degrees in advance.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the sweet potato thoroughly to remove dirt, as it will bake in the skin. Pat the sweet potatoes dry with a paper towel and poke a couple of holes in the root with a fork.

Step 3

Step 3
Wrap each sweet potato individually in foil. Read about the nuances of using foil in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe.

Step 4

Step 4
Place the wrapped vegetables on a baking sheet and place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees. Bake the sweet potatoes until tender, about 1-1.5 hours, depending on the size of your sweet potatoes and how your oven operates. I had large fruits weighing about 500 grams each, I baked them for 1.5 hours until ready. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

Step 5

Step 5
While the sweet potatoes are baking, prepare the chicken. Boil the chicken breast until tender for about 30-35 minutes. Add spices and salt to taste.

Step 6

Step 6
Remove the boiled chicken breast from the broth, cool, remove the skin and separate the meat from the bones.

Step 7

Step 7
Cut the chicken meat into small cubes.

Step 8

Step 8
Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.

Step 9

Step 9
Wash the mushrooms and also cut into small cubes.

Step 10

Step 10
Heat a frying pan and pour vegetable oil into it for frying. Fry the chopped onion, stirring constantly, until golden. Read about how to choose the ideal frying pan, as well as how to choose the right vegetable oil for frying, in separate articles, links at the end of the recipe.

Step 11

Step 11
Add chopped champignons to the onion. Fry everything together for 7-10 minutes.

Step 12

Step 12
Add chopped chicken fillet to the fried onions and champignons and fry for another 5-7 minutes, then turn off the heat.

Step 13

Step 13
Check the readiness of the sweet potato by piercing it with a fork. If the root vegetable is soft and can be pierced well, then you can take it out for further stuffing. If the sweet potatoes are hard, bake them some more. Unfold the foil on the sweet potato and fold it so that the sweet potato filling does not “run away”. Make a wide cut in the baked sweet potato and remove some of the “extra” sweet potato pulp.

Step 14

Step 14
Place the fried onions with mushrooms and chicken into the cavity prepared in the sweet potato. You get a sweet potato boat stuffed with fried onions, mushrooms and chicken.

Step 15

Step 15
Grate hard cheese on a fine grater. Wash the dill, dry and finely chop.

Step 16

Step 16
Mix chopped dill with grated cheese.

Step 17

Step 17
Top the sweet potato boat with a mixture of grated cheese and fresh dill.

Step 18

Step 18
Place the prepared stuffed boats in the oven for another 10 minutes to melt the grated cheese.

Step 19

Step 19
Place each boat on a separate plate. If desired, garnish them with chopped vegetables and sprinkle with chopped green onions. Boats and sweet potatoes with chicken are ready in the oven! Serve them hot. Bon appetit!
