Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake chicken stuffed with mushrooms in the oven? Nothing could be easier! First, prepare all the necessary ingredients according to the list. Instead of fresh garlic, you can use 2 tbsp. l. dry powder. This is especially true for the garlic that needs to be rubbed onto the chicken, because pieces of fresh garlic can burn in the oven.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the garlic. Pass five cloves for marinating chicken through a press, and finely chop the remaining two cloves for filling with a knife.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the chicken and dry it. Lubricate the bird inside and out with vegetable oil and rub with garlic and spices passed through a press. If you use ready-made spice mixtures, be sure to read the ingredients on the package. Often such mixtures already contain salt, take this into account, otherwise you risk oversalting the dish. Leave the chicken to marinate for 1.5 hours in the refrigerator.

Step 4

Step 4
While the chicken is marinating, prepare the filling. Wash the champignons, dry and cut into slices. If the mushrooms are small, you can leave them whole.

Step 5

Step 5
Cut the onion into half rings.

Step 6

Step 6
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, add champignons and fry until excess moisture evaporates.

Step 7

Step 7
Add butter, onion and chopped garlic to the mushrooms. Fry, stirring, for another 4-5 minutes. At the end, lightly salt and pepper the filling and mix.

Step 8

Step 8
Stuff the chicken with the prepared filling.

Step 9

Step 9
Secure the seam with toothpicks. Tie the legs. Wrap the tips of the wings with foil to prevent them from burning.

Step 10

Step 10
If you wish, you can prepare a side dish of potatoes along with the chicken. Peel the potatoes and cut into cubes.

Step 11

Step 11
Place potatoes in an even layer in a baking dish.

Step 12

Step 12
Place the chicken on top. Bake the chicken for about 1.5 hours in an oven preheated to 180°C, periodically brushing the bird with juice from the bottom of the pan. Determine the exact baking time and temperature based on your oven.

Step 13

Step 13
Serve the finished chicken with a side dish, garnished with berries, broccoli, and slices of fried mushrooms. Bon appetit!
