Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make homemade potato chips in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Spices will be used in minimal quantities to enjoy the taste of natural potato chips. If desired, in addition to salt and ground black pepper, you can add sweet paprika, dry garlic, sprinkle with finely grated cheese, each time getting a new taste. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash and peel the potatoes. Potatoes must be cut into thin slices, no more than two millimeters thick, so that the product turns out like real store-bought chips, thin, crispy, slightly curved. It is quite difficult to cut potatoes so thinly with a knife, so this can be done using a vegetable peeler.

Step 3

Step 3
Place the potatoes on a paper towel to absorb excess moisture. Potato slices should be dry.

Step 4

Step 4
Place the potato slices in a bowl and add salt, ground black pepper and other spices as desired. Pour in vegetable oil. Gently stir the potatoes so that all slices are saturated with spices and oil on both sides.

Step 5

Step 5
Cover the baking sheet with parchment; this must be done, otherwise the potatoes will stick to the pan. Place the potato slices on the parchment, leaving a small space between them so that the potatoes do not stick together. Bake potato chips at about 180 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. Determine the exact baking time and temperature based on your oven.

Step 6

Step 6
The potato chips should be nicely browned and slightly curled. However, the drying time can be changed depending on what kind of chips you and your household like best: drier and crispier, or softer. Carefully remove the finished chips from the parchment so as not to break them, place them on a plate or bowl and serve with ketchup, mayonnaise or other sauce as desired. Bon appetit!
