Smoked Rib Pea Soup in a Slow Cooker

One of my favorite soups. Simple, tasty and filling. My husband loves no soup as much as pea soup with smoked pork ribs. I once heard the following opinion: “It’s impossible to present pea soup well. Whatever one may say, it looks so-so.” I fundamentally disagree with this statement! This soup looks delicious and the aroma is simply mind-blowing! Not to mention the fact that legume decoctions must be eaten at least twice a week for good digestive system function.

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
So, to prepare this dish, it is very important to choose good ribs. We have been buying at the market for many years from the same seller, who knows our familyʼs tastes. Smoked ribs should be meaty, but not fatty. We usually take a full “lash” (that’s what we call the entire rib flank) with young crispy cartilage, which then, when boiled, becomes the most delicious part in the soup.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the peas and soak in cold water for three hours. If you donʼt do this, get ready for a riot in your intestines!

Step 3

Step 3
Pour oil into the multicooker bowl, turn on the Fry mode, 140 degrees, for 30 minutes. Chop the onion and carrots, put them in a bowl and cook, stirring, for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Step 4
Then add the chopped pepper into squares, mix and cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 5

Step 5
After this, put the washed peas without water, pour in warm water and cook until the signal, this is the remaining 10 minutes from half an hour. Then we switch the multicooker to Soup mode for two hours.

Step 6

Step 6
Cut the potatoes into cubes, wash the ribs with boiling water.

Step 7

Step 7
After half an hour, put the potatoes and ribs, divided into parts, into the bowl.

Step 8

Step 8
Add salt and spices. Be careful with the salt, as the ribs are already salted. Close the lid and cook until the end of the mode.

Step 9

Step 9
Finely chop the greens along with the garlic.

Step 10

Step 10
Place in the already prepared soup, stir and leave to brew on Heat for half an hour.

Step 11

Step 11
Serve and serve with crackers. Bon appetit!
