Ingredients (4 portions)

Basic:

Onion 1 pc
Garlic 3 clove
Chilli 2 pc
Sugar 2 tbsp
Lemon juice to taste
Ginger (root) to taste
Vegetable oil 4 tbsp
Champignon 100 g
Shrimps 450 g
Heavy cream (or coconut milk) 400 ml
Chicken bouillon 400 ml

How to cook tom yum soup with chicken? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Choose heavy cream — preferably 30-33 percent, you can immediately take peeled shrimp.

Make broth from chicken or chicken breast by boiling the meat for 1-1.5 hours, then remove it and strain the broth.

Prepare the mushrooms, peel and rinse well; I took dried champignons (50 g), pre-soaking them in cold water before cooking.

Wash all vegetables and ginger root well under running water and peel.

Chop the onion, garlic and pepper. To avoid irritating the mucous membranes of your eyes when cutting onions, rinse the onion and knife with cold water. The cutting board will not absorb the unpleasant onion smell if you rub it with a slice of lemon before slicing.

Place the chopped vegetables in a blender bowl and puree.

Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil and place chopped vegetables in it, fry over medium heat for a couple of minutes.

Grate the lemon zest and ginger root, throw together with lemon juice and sugar into the frying pan with the mass being fried, after a couple of minutes remove the resulting paste from the heat.

Pour the cream into a saucepan with hot broth and add 3 tbsp. spoons of prepared paste, boil for several minutes.

Throw chopped champignons and shrimp into the soup and simmer for 5 minutes. Tom Yam soup is ready, serve with fresh herbs, such as cilantro. Bon appetit!
