Millet & Rice Breakfast Porridge

Nourishing, tasty, aromatic. Breakfast for the whole family. Friendship porridge with water and milk combines millet and rice cereals, which go well together. This breakfast turns out to be much more satisfying, because the body receives a variety of vitamins and minerals from two cereals at once.

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to cook Friendship porridge with water and milk? Very simple! To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Add salt and sugar to your taste. I added 1 tbsp. l. with a heap of sugar because the family likes sweeter porridge. If you wish, you can cook the porridge only in water or milk.

Step 2

Step 2
Sort the rice and millet and rinse thoroughly separately until the water runs clear. Pour clean cold water over both cereals and leave for 10-15 minutes. Then drain the water.

Step 3

Step 3
Boil 300 ml of water in a saucepan over medium heat. Add millet and rice. Stirring, bring the water to a boil. Cook the cereal, skimming off the foam, for about 5 minutes.

Step 4

Step 4
When the porridge begins to thicken, add milk, sugar and salt to taste. Bring the porridge to a boil again. Reduce heat to minimum. If you wish, you can add vanilla sugar.

Step 5

Step 5
Add butter. Stirring, cook the porridge until the desired thickness. Then turn off the fire. If you like crumbly porridge, then it is better not to deviate from the recipe. If you want a more boiled, homogeneous porridge, add 2 times more milk.

Step 6

Step 6
Cover the pan with a lid and let the porridge brew for 5-7 minutes. During this time, all excess moisture, if any, will be absorbed into the cereal.

Step 7

Step 7
Place the finished Friendship porridge on plates. Add fresh berries, butter, honey or jam to each if desired and serve. Bon appetit!
