Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make Kreplach Jewish dumplings? Prepare the ingredients according to the list. Boil chicken fillet in salted water until tender. Let it cool slightly and grind it in a meat grinder or grind it into minced meat using a blender.

Step 2

Step 2
Sift wheat flour into a deep bowl, add salt, pour in water and add chicken yolks; we will need the whites to prepare the filling, so don’t throw them away.

Step 3

Step 3
Mix the ingredients and knead with your hands into an elastic, smooth dough; it should not stick to your hands. Wrap it in cling film and put it in the refrigerator to rest for half an hour.

Step 4

Step 4
In a bowl with minced chicken, add finely chopped onions, simmered in vegetable oil heated in a frying pan. Add the remaining chicken whites, salt and ground black pepper to taste. Mix the ingredients until smooth.

Step 5

Step 5
Remove the rested dough from the refrigerator, divide it into parts and roll it out on a dusty work surface into a thin rectangular layer, cut it into squares approximately six by six centimeters in size.

Step 6

Step 6
Place some prepared minced meat in the center of each square of dough.

Step 7

Step 7
Press the edges of the dough together to make the dumplings shaped like triangles.

Step 8

Step 8
Pour water into a saucepan, add a pinch of salt, and bring it to a boil. Instead of water, you can use chicken broth. Dip the dumplings into boiling water. Gently stir them all at once with a slotted spoon to prevent them from sticking to the bottom of the pan. From the moment the water boils, cook the kreplach for about 5 minutes, because the meat filling in them is already ready.

Step 9

Step 9
Remove the dumplings from the water with a slotted spoon, place them in a deep plate, pour over them with the hot broth in which they were boiled, and serve. Bon appetit!
