Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a classic Potato cake? Prepare your food. Cookies are usually the simplest sugar cookies, such as anniversary ones, for tea. But many people do it with what they have on hand: oatmeal, biscuits, biscuits. I always cook only with the traditional one, so I don’t know what the taste will be with the other one. Choose real condensed milk, without milk fat substitutes. The same goes for butter. Take it out of the refrigerator in advance, it should become soft.

Step 2

Step 2
Grind the cookies in any way convenient for you. I have a convenient large food processor; a large amount of food can be placed in it at once; I grind it in it. Some people prefer a meat grinder; by the way, this is how cookies were made in my childhood. Or you can get by with a simple rolling pin. Place the cookies in a tight bag and beat them well with a rolling pin. In this case, the crumbs will be quite large, which, however, will not affect the taste of the cakes in any way.

Step 3

Step 3
Place soft butter and condensed milk in a bowl. Using a fork, stir them until creamy. You can, of course, use a mixer, but this is not important in this recipe — the condition of the cream can be anything, it will not affect the final result in any way. And you still have to wash the mixer. You can use a whisk instead of a fork.

Step 4

Step 4
Add cookie crumbs to the buttercream. Mix the ingredients with the same fork until completely homogeneous.

Step 5

Step 5
The dough will be thick enough to be molded.

Step 6

Step 6
Place cocoa powder on a plate. Make an oblong shaped cake from the dough. Roll it in cocoa on all sides and place it on parchment. In general, potatoes can have any shape — oval or round. You can make them look as much like potatoes as possible by making uneven tubers.

Step 7

Step 7
Place the finished chocolate potatoes in the refrigerator for at least an hour. The butter should cool well and set, which will make the cakes firmer. They will be convenient and tastier to eat. Before serving, potatoes can be decorated with cream, chocolate, sprinkles. I made white dots out of cream that looked like potato sprouts.
