Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make lasagna Bolognese with bechamel sauce? First you need to prepare both sauces. Letʼs start with the Bolognese sauce. To prepare it, gently peel the carrots and onions, chop them and fry them in oil in a frying pan until soft.

Step 2

Step 2
Add the minced meat and fry it for 8 — 10 minutes until it turns from red to brown. During the cooking process, you should periodically stir the dish, breaking up the lumps of minced meat with a spatula to a finer and crumbly structure. I added more celery, but thatʼs up to your taste.

Step 3

Step 3
Add tomato sauce, a mixture of dry herbs — Italian or basil, salt and pepper to taste, stir and simmer covered for 10-15 minutes.

Step 4

Step 4
Now you need to prepare the Bechamel sauce. To prepare it, take a thick-bottomed saucepan and melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 5

Step 5
Add flour and stir quickly.

Step 6

Step 6
Pour in the milk, add salt, pepper, nutmeg, mix thoroughly and simmer over low heat until thickened. It should look like a sauce, not like porridge, so you need to keep an eye on it without leaving the stove. If you get any lumps, you can either strain the sauce or leave it like that — they won’t be noticeable in the finished dish.

Step 7

Step 7
Grate soft cheese (preferably mozzarella, but you can use any other cheese).

Step 8

Step 8
Now hard cheese (preferably Parmesan) also needs to be grated.

Step 9

Step 9
Letʼs start assembling the lasagna itself. Pour some bechamel sauce into the baking dish and place a layer of lasagne sheets. They may overlap slightly; there is no need to trim them.

Step 10

Step 10
Place Bolognese sauce on top of the sheets. This is about 1/3 of the total amount of sauce.

Step 11

Step 11
Sprinkle with grated soft cheese.

Step 12

Step 12
Top with béchamel sauce.

Step 13

Step 13
Then again lay out a layer of lasagne sheets, Bolognese sauce, cheese, and Bechamel sauce.

Step 14

Step 14
And repeat all the layers one more time.

Step 15

Step 15
On the last layer, sprinkle hard cheese on top. All lasagne sheets should be coated with sauce so they can cook and be soft rather than dry. Place the lasagna in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. oven for 30-40 minutes. Time and temperature are approximate, use your equipment as a guide.
