Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to cook jelly from compote and starch? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. You can take absolutely any compote. You can take compote from a jar or cook it in a pan from any berries or fruits. Different compotes will produce jelly with different flavors. Starch can be corn or potato. I take potato. If you use corn, add 1.5 times more of it.

Step 2

Step 2
Strain the compote from the berries through a fine strainer. Pour some of the compote into a glass to dissolve the starch.

Step 3

Step 3
Pour the main part of the compote into a saucepan. If desired, you can add a little sugar. When starch is added, some of the sweetness is lost. Place the pan with compote on the fire and bring to a boil.

Step 4

Step 4
Add starch to a glass of compote and stir it thoroughly so that no lumps remain. To add starch, the compote in the glass must be cold. If starch is added to a hot or warm liquid, it will remain in lumps. If you like thick jelly, add more starch.

Step 5

Step 5
Add starch into the boiling compote, stirring constantly, in a thin stream. Leave the pan on the heat and bring to a boil again, stirring occasionally. Boil the compote for another minute until the starch is completely cooked.

Step 6

Step 6
Remove the jelly from the heat and leave to cool. To prevent the jelly from becoming crusty, sprinkle it with sugar and do not stir.

Step 7

Step 7
Kissel is ready! Pour the jelly into a carafe and help yourself! Bon appetit!
