Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make shrimp in creamy garlic sauce with cheese? First, defrost the shrimp. Remove them from the freezer in advance and leave them at room temperature until completely thawed. If you need to defrost the shrimp quickly, cover them with cool water. What kind of shrimp is best to use? Royal or tiger clams are ideal, but you can also use regular ones. Instead of hard cheese, you can use 1-2 tablespoons of processed cheese.

Step 2

Step 2
Place the shrimp on kitchen napkins to remove excess liquid.

Step 3

Step 3
If you have shrimp with heads and shells, peel them. I used pre-cleaned clams with tails. Be sure to remove the vena cava from the back of each shrimp. Peel the garlic and rinse in clean water.

Step 4

Step 4
Heat vegetable oil in a thick-bottomed frying pan. Send the shrimp to fry. Cook until they begin to curl into rings and acquire a reddish tint. Stir constantly to ensure the shrimp cook evenly. I fried for about 6-8 minutes.

Step 5

Step 5
Add a pinch of salt, finely chopped garlic, ground black pepper and, if desired, ground paprika. I added a pinch of nutmeg and coarse hot red pepper. Stir, cook for a few seconds.

Step 6

Step 6
Pour cream into the pan and stir. At the moment of boiling, reduce the flame to minimum and simmer the shrimp for about a minute.

Step 7

Step 7
Sprinkle with grated hard cheese and stir. Leave until the cheese has melted. At this stage, you can use processed cheese instead of grated cheese.

Step 8

Step 8
Finally, add finely chopped herbs to the pan. I had frozen spinach in the freezer and I also added it to the shrimp. Parsley or dill are great.

Step 9

Step 9
Shrimp in creamy sauce with cheese is ready! For a bright presentation, you can add just a little red onion, chopped into feathers or cubes, to the finished dish. Bon appetit!
