Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to stew a turkey in sour cream in a frying pan? Prepare the ingredients according to the list. Choose vegetable oil to your taste, sour cream — any fat content. Any part of turkey of your choice is suitable for this dish: breasts, legs, thighs, and so on. It is advisable to use sirloin parts, without bones. Rinse the meat, dry with napkins and cut into small cubes.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the onions and cut into small cubes or thin strips. I used red onions, but you can use white ones too.

Step 3

Step 3
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Place the onion in the pan and fry it, stirring, until lightly browned.

Step 4

Step 4
Add diced turkey fillet to the pan with the onions. Fry it, stirring with a spatula, on both sides for about 10 minutes. It is necessary that the meat is only slightly covered with a light crust.

Step 5

Step 5
Then add sour cream to the pan. Pour in water. If the sour cream is oily and thick, add a little more water. Add spices: salt and ground black pepper to taste. If you wish, you can add any other seasonings and spices. Reduce heat to low and simmer the turkey and onions, covered, for about 15-20 minutes. Focus on your stove.

Step 6

Step 6
Remove the lid from the pan, stir the turkey with the sauce, increase the heat to medium and simmer the meat for about 5-7 minutes. The sour cream sauce should thicken. As soon as this happens, turn off the stove. Let the dish stand covered for about 15 minutes.

Step 7

Step 7
Serve turkey stewed in sour cream as a separate dish with bread and fresh vegetables or with any side dish to taste. This dish will be delicious with rice, buckwheat, pasta and mashed potatoes or stewed vegetables. Bon appetit!
