Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make Chinese sweet and sour sauce? Prepare the ingredients according to the list. You can adjust the amount of garlic to suit your taste. Salt and sugar will be taken to a minimum, since there is enough of them in the sauces used. Peel the onions and finely chop with a knife. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat it over medium heat. Add the onion to the pan and fry it for a couple of minutes.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the bell pepper, cut it into two parts and remove the seed capsule. Cut the pepper into small cubes.

Step 3

Step 3
Place the chopped bell peppers in the frying pan with the onions and continue frying them together for about 7 minutes, stirring occasionally with a spatula.

Step 4

Step 4
Place the garlic through a press into the frying pan with the vegetables, add a pinch of sugar and salt, pour in soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, pineapple juice and tomato sauce. For convenience, these sauce components can be mixed in advance in a separate container. Stir the contents of the pan and simmer everything over low heat for about 5 minutes.

Step 5

Step 5
Add a teaspoon of starch and continue to simmer the sauce over the heat, stirring constantly with a spatula, until the sauce thickens. Turn off the heat.

Step 6

Step 6
To make the sauce more uniform in consistency, you can puree it with a blender. The sauce is ready. Bon appetit!
