A hearty and very healthy dish for the whole family! Lentils with meat are a great option to diversify your menu. You can use any meat: pork, chicken or beef, or even prepare a lean version from cereals and vegetables.

Ingredients (8 portions)

Basic:

Onion 1 pc
Garlic 2 clove
Tomatoes (or 1 tbsp. tomato paste) 2 pc
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste
Carrot 1 pc
Vegetable oil 4 tbsp
Pork 400 g
bell pepper 1 pc
Lentils 1 cup

How to make lentils with meat? Prepare all products according to the list. Lentils can be used red or green. Instead of tomatoes, it is permissible to use tomato paste or ketchup.

First of all, rinse and dry the meat. Cut the pork into small equal pieces. Pour a small amount of vegetable oil into the cauldron, heat it and send the meat to fry. Stirring, cook until golden brown. Next, reduce the flame under the cauldron to moderate, add a quarter glass of water and simmer the pork for about 45-50 minutes. By the way, you can cook in a frying pan with high edges, or in a saucepan with a thick bottom.

After a while, open the lid of the cauldron and check if the meat is burning. If necessary, add a little more water. Meanwhile, get on with the rest of your groceries. Peel the carrots, onions and garlic. Cut the bell peppers into two parts, remove the core and seeds. Rinse all vegetables in cold water.

Cut onions, carrots and peppers into small pieces. These can be cubes or bars.

Grate the tomatoes using a coarse grater.

After the allotted time, add onions, carrots and peppers to the meat. Increase the heat to high and, stirring, fry everything together for about 5 more minutes.

Rinse red lentils in cold water.

Add the cereal to the cauldron, pour in the grated tomatoes. I added a few cherry tomatoes to make the finished dish more appetizing. Salt everything to taste, add your favorite spices.

Add finely chopped garlic to all products. Pour in water so that it lightly covers the cereal. After boiling, reduce the flame to low and cook the lentils under the lid until the cereal is ready. This will take you about 15 minutes.

At the end of cooking, mix everything well and sprinkle the finished dish with finely chopped herbs. Done, ready to serve!
