Creamy One-Pan Macaroni and Cheese

Easier than ever, the fastest dinner for the whole family! Macaroni with cream and cheese in a frying pan is very similar to the well-known carbonara pasta, only they are prepared without bacon. The creamy cheese sauce coats each pasta and makes the dish juicy and satisfying.

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make creamy macaroni and cheese in a skillet? Prepare your food. You can take pasta in any shape, the main thing is that it is made from durum wheat — such pasta does not boil over, it is tastier and healthier. Read more about the intricacies of choosing pasta in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Cream with a fat content of 10 or 20% is suitable. Heavy cream will make the dish too high in calories, so keep this in mind. Use any spices and seasonings to suit your taste.

Step 2

Step 2
Place a saucepan of clean, cold water over high heat to cook the pasta. There should be a lot of water — about a liter for every 100 grams. Bring the water to a vigorous boil, add salt and add a spoonful of vegetable oil — it will prevent the pasta from sticking together after cooking. Add the pasta and stir immediately to prevent it from sticking to the bottom. Cook the pasta according to the time indicated on the package. Stir the pasta from time to time, then drain it in a colander.

Step 3

Step 3
All that remains is to prepare the cream sauce for the pasta. It can be done at the same time as boiling the pasta. Place a frying pan over low heat and pour the cream into it. Add salt and spices to the cream (I use nutmeg, ground black pepper and basil). Stir.

Step 4

Step 4
While the cream is heating, grate the cheese on a medium or fine grater.

Step 5

Step 5
As soon as the first bubbles appear on the surface of the cream, add the grated cheese into them. Quickly stir the sauce and immediately turn off the heat. In hot cream, the cheese will melt without heating. Read the article at the link at the end of the recipe for a lot of useful information about using cream for sauces.

Step 6

Step 6
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and stir until it is evenly distributed. Serve the dish immediately.

Step 7

Step 7
You can add any chopped herbs to the pasta to taste. Bon appetit!
