Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make fish with carrots and onions in a frying pan? Prepare your food. Any white sea fish is suitable — pollock, hake, cod, like mine. Pre-defrost it, gut it if necessary, cut off the fins and tail. I have already prepared steaks, if you have a whole carcass, then cut it into portioned pieces. You will learn how to defrost fish correctly by reading an article on this topic. There is a link at the end of this recipe.

Step 2

Step 2
Place the fish pieces in a deep bowl, salt and pepper them. Mix well so that the spices are evenly distributed throughout the fish. Peel the onion and cut into thin feathers.

Step 3

Step 3
Peel the carrots and grate on a coarse grater.

Step 4

Step 4
Heat a heavy-bottomed frying pan over medium heat. Pour vegetable oil on it for frying. Place flour on a flat plate. Dredge the fish pieces on all sides and place them in the heated oil. Fry the fish until golden brown, then turn over and fry on the other side. How to choose a frying pan and oil for frying, read the separate articles at the end of this recipe.

Step 5

Step 5
Place another frying pan on the heat at the same time. Also heat it up, then pour in the oil. Place the onion in the pan, fry it for several minutes, stirring, until transparent. Add carrots to the onions. Fry the vegetables for about 5 minutes more, until soft.

Step 6

Step 6
Then place the fried fish pieces on top of the vegetables. Dilute the tomato paste in a glass of water (or in another amount, depending on how thick you want the sauce). Pour the paste water into the fish. Add paprika and bay leaf.

Step 7

Step 7
Bring the sauce to a boil, reduce heat, and cover the pan with a lid. Simmer the fish for 20-30 minutes, depending on the type and size of the pieces.

Step 8

Step 8
Serve the fish with any side dish. When serving, sprinkle it with herbs. Bon appetit!
