Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake homemade oatmeal cookies with kefir in the oven? Prepare all ingredients. Melt the butter in a water bath or in the microwave. How to do this correctly, read at the end of the recipe. Add honey, egg, kefir, soda to melted butter at room temperature and mix everything thoroughly. I also added a pinch of cinnamon for flavor. Read about all the nuances of working with soda in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

Step 2

Step 2
Grind oatmeal in a blender. Cereals are not needed for instant cooking. Read more about the intricacies of choosing oatmeal in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

Step 3

Step 3
In a large bowl, mix the crushed oatmeal, flour sifted through a fine sieve (this will enrich it with oxygen and the baked goods will be more fluffy), sugar and salt.

Step 4

Step 4
Then gradually add the butter mixture to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Step 5

Step 5
If you wish, you can add your favorite dried fruits and nuts to the dough; I added dried cranberries and walnuts. To prevent pieces of dried fruit from sticking to each other, mix them with a small amount of flour. Mix the dough again and place it in the freezer for 20 minutes. Turn on the oven to 190 degrees.

Step 6

Step 6
Wet your hands and a dessert spoon in water and form a ball the size of a walnut. Cover the bottom of the baking sheet with parchment and place the balls at a distance of about 2 cm from each other. Place in an oven preheated to 190°C and bake for about 15 minutes. It took me 13 minutes. It may take you a little more or less time, use your oven as a guide. Read more about this in the article at the link at the end of the recipe. Bake until lightly browned.
