Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make French fries in a slow cooker? Prepare your food. Take large potatoes, 4 pieces are enough for 2 servings. I don’t recommend frying a larger amount at a time; it’s better to do several batches. Choose refined sunflower oil for frying.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water, using a brush to remove any heavy dirt. Clean it and dry it with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Cut the peeled tubers into long strips. Try to make equal pieces so that they cook evenly.

Step 3

Step 3
Place the chopped potatoes on a paper towel and blot it to remove any excess starch — dry potatoes will become more golden brown when fried.

Step 4

Step 4
Pour vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl. Calculate its amount depending on the size of the bowl and the volume of potatoes — they should float freely in the oil. Select the mode suitable for frying on the multicooker — it can be “Frying”, “Frying” or, like mine, “Baking”. Look at your model. If you can choose the temperature, then set it to 140-160 degrees. Heat the oil.

Step 5

Step 5
There is a simple way to check whether the oil is hot enough. Dip a piece of potato into it. If bubbles gather around it, then you can begin the frying process. Carefully lower the potatoes into the oil.

Step 6

Step 6
Leave the potatoes to fry with the lid open. Frying time will depend on the power of your multicooker. In some models, 15-20 minutes is enough, mine took all of 30. Also keep in mind that the potatoes will not be as brown as those from the deep fryer — they will only turn slightly golden. At the end of frying, salt the potatoes to taste.

Step 7

Step 7
Remove the potatoes using a plastic slotted spoon. You can place it on a paper towel to remove excess fat. Serve the finished potatoes immediately. Bon appetit!
