Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake chum salmon in foil in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. It is better to use fresh fish, but if you use frozen fish, you must first defrost it. Itʼs better to do this in the refrigerator. This way the fish will retain its juiciness and proper structure. The best way to defrost is to leave it in the refrigerator overnight. It is better to use freshly ground pepper — it is more aromatic. A sprig of thyme is perfect for greenery.

Step 2

Step 2
Start with the marinade. In a separate container, mix oil, salt, pepper and chopped herbs, squeeze lemon juice into it. Add the amount of lemon juice, salt and pepper to your taste. Before using, be sure to rinse lemon and herbs thoroughly and dry with a towel. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.

Step 3

Step 3
Rinse the chum salmon thoroughly, gut it, clean it of films, if there are fins, remove it. Dry with paper towels and cut into 3 portions along the ridge or into steaks. I had ready-cut pieces. I washed them, dried them and removed the spinal bone.

Step 4

Step 4
Rub the chum salmon pieces with the prepared marinade on all sides. Leave to marinate for 10 minutes.

Step 5

Step 5
You can bake the whole fish in a common foil or each piece separately. I like to do it in portions, it’s very convenient when serving. If desired, thin slices of lemon can be placed on the fish.

Step 6

Step 6
Wrap the chum salmon pieces in foil, leaving a seam at the top. If you have very thin foil, wrap the fish in two layers.

Step 7

Step 7
Transfer the chum salmon into a heat-resistant form and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for 15-20 minutes depending on the capabilities of your oven.
