Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to quickly bake whole jacket potatoes in the microwave? Prepare your food. You need to choose the right good quality potatoes: of course, young potatoes from a new harvest are preferable. It will turn out very tender and crumbly, and its skin is much thinner. Young potatoes are not always on sale, so tubers from an old harvest can also be used.

Step 2

Step 2
Choose medium-sized or even very small potatoes. Be sure to rinse the tubers well; it is best to use a special brush and vegetable wash. There should be no pieces of soil left on the potatoes.

Step 3

Step 3
Since we will be cooking jacket potatoes in the microwave, use dishes that can be used in the microwave. Let me remind you that you should absolutely not use metal utensils or utensils with a shiny pattern in microwave ovens — the oven will spark and may completely fail. But glass, porcelain and even paper and wooden dishes are ideal. Place the washed potatoes in a deep bowl.

Step 4

Step 4
Cover the potatoes with a special lid for use in microwave ovens. I have a plastic lid with a small hole for steam to escape.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the dish with the potatoes in the microwave, covered. The cooking process and time directly depend on the power of your microwave oven. Cook on medium power (mine is 800) for about 15 minutes. Again, the time may increase if you have large tubers, and decrease if you have small ones, usually new potatoes. In any case, focus primarily on the operating features of your equipment.

Step 6

Step 6
Serve jacket potatoes with coarse sea salt, pickled cucumber, or vice versa with fresh vegetables, herbs and salads. Bon appetit!
