Vegetable oil 2 tbsp
Chicken eggs 1 pc
Soda 0.2 tsp
Kefir 1 cup

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make jellied dough for a kefir pie? Beat a chicken egg into a bowl. If you wish, you can not use chicken eggs for this dough at all, but with them the baked goods will still be tastier and more convenient. Beat the egg with a fork or whisk with the addition of salt. If the dough is being prepared for a sweet pie, then you need to add sugar to taste and vanilla if desired.

Step 2

Step 2
Pour kefir and odorless vegetable oil into a bowl with the egg mixture. Mix the ingredients until the mixture is homogeneous in consistency. Kefir does not have to be fresh, it will even be better if it is yesterday’s dough, then the dough will be fluffier, and the cake from such dough will rise better. This is a great way to recycle stale kefir that you no longer want to eat without heat treatment.

Step 3

Step 3
Add soda, mix and leave the dough piece on the table for 5 minutes so that a reaction occurs between kefir and soda. In the meantime, you can sift the wheat flour. It is better to sift the flour more than once to saturate it with oxygen; the baked goods will also turn out more fluffy.

Step 4

Step 4
Pour wheat flour into a bowl with liquid in batches and knead the dough to a consistency as thick as sour cream. Visually it resembles pancake dough. It is not recommended to beat and mix the jellied dough for a long time. Please note that you may need a little more or a little less flour — focus on consistency.

Step 5

Step 5
The dough is ready. You can move on to preparing the filling and baking the pie. Pies made from this dough are very tender, soft and slightly juicy in taste. Bon appetit!
