How to bake rice with cabbage in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. It is better to take cabbage and carrots young; removing them will make the dish juicier. You can take any rice. I have a round grain. Tomato paste must be fresh and of good quality, otherwise the dish may taste sour. Wash the cabbage and remove the top dried leaves. Chop the cabbage into thin strips. Wash the carrots, peel and grate on a coarse grater. Rinse the rice until clean.

Pour refined vegetable oil into the frying pan and heat it well. Place cabbage and carrots in a frying pan heated with oil, stir, add salt to taste and simmer while stirring over medium heat for 7-8 minutes. Turn on the oven to 160 degrees in advance.

Add washed rice, tomato paste, rice salt (about 2 pinches) to the vegetables, pour in cold water and mix again.

Transfer the contents of the pan to an ovenproof baking dish. Place the pan in an oven preheated to 160 degrees for about 30 minutes. You can cover the pan with foil. I didnʼt do this. After 15 minutes of baking, remove the pan from the oven, stir the contents and check for salt and liquid. If all the moisture has evaporated, then pour in 50 ml of water so that the cabbage does not burn. Place the pan back in the oven.

After the specified time, turn off the heat. Leave the cabbage and rice in the oven for another 10 minutes. During this time, the remaining liquid will be absorbed into the cabbage, making the dish juicy and not watery. Transfer the prepared stewed cabbage with rice into portioned dishes and sprinkle with herbs for decoration and additional taste. Bon appetit!
