Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a smoothie in a blender from pumpkin and orange? Prepare your food. If possible, choose sweet varieties of pumpkin, such as butternut, it has a special pear-shaped shape. Instead of (or in addition to) oranges, you can take apples, persimmons, and carrots. Add honey to taste; if you are allergic to it, then use any other sweetener or do without it at all. Depending on how thick you want it, you may also need some water or juice.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash and dry the pumpkin. Cut a piece and peel it. Be careful, it is very tough. If you have a part with seeds, then remove them along with the fibers. Cut the pumpkin pulp into small cubes. Next, the pumpkin can be boiled, baked in the oven or microwave. I cooked it in the microwave. Place the cubes in a container and cook at maximum power for 10 minutes. Do not add water; cover the container loosely with a lid.

Step 3

Step 3
After 10 minutes, check the pumpkin for softness. If it is not ready yet, then leave it for a couple more minutes. This will depend on the power of the microwave, the type of pumpkin, and its volume. During this time, my pumpkin became completely soft; I mashed it with a fork.

Step 4

Step 4
Leave the pumpkin to cool while you work on the oranges. Cut off the peel so that the white upper part of the pulp is cut off along with it.

Step 5

Step 5
Using a sharp knife, cut out the orange pulp without touching the partitions.

Step 6

Step 6
Smoothies can be prepared in a stationary blender or using an immersion blender. I will do it submersible. Place cooled pumpkin cubes and chopped orange slices into a blender glass. Squeeze the juice from the remaining oranges into it. Punch everything together until completely homogeneous.

Step 7

Step 7
Taste the resulting puree and add honey to taste if desired. Try again.

Step 8

Step 8
Depending on the resulting thickness, you can dilute the smoothie a little with water or orange juice. But don’t overdo it — the consistency of a smoothie differs from other drinks in its thickness.

Step 9

Step 9
Pour the smoothie into glasses; you can garnish it with mint. Bon appetit!
