Ground black pepper to taste
Water 100 ml
Carrot 1 pc
Bulb onions 1 pc
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp
Pollock 600 g

How to stew pollock with a side dish? Nothing complicated. Prepare your food. Fish can be used fresh or frozen. Defrost the frozen one first. Read more about proper defrosting in the article at the link at the end of the recipe. I have gutted pollock without a head. Pollock is considered a low-fat fish. Therefore, stewing it with vegetables is a great option. When baking, we recommend covering the pan with foil.

Clean the pollock from scales, cut off the fins and tail. Using a sharp knife, cut the carcass along the spine. Remove fillets from each side.

Peel the onion and chop.

Remove the peel from the carrots and grate on a coarse grater.

Add onion to the fish and fry for a couple of minutes. Add carrots.

After another 2 minutes, pour in some water, bring to a boil, and cover with a lid. Reduce heat and simmer the fish for about 10 minutes.
