Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
Letʼs prepare the products. Currants can be taken either fresh or frozen. If you have a frozen one, like me, then take it out of the cold in advance so that the berries soften a little. It is not necessary to defrost completely. Take only good quality water for fruit drinks, either bottled or filtered; the quality of the drink depends on its taste. Adjust the amount of sugar to your taste.

Step 2

Step 2
We wash the berries under running water. If your currants are frozen and were washed before freezing, then skip this step. Place the washed berries in a sieve or colander to drain off excess water.

Step 3

Step 3
Pour the finished berries into the container in which the fruit juice will be cooked. Sprinkle them with sugar.

Step 4

Step 4
Using a potato masher or any other convenient device, mash the berries. You donʼt have to puree them, just let them crush a little and release the juice.

Step 5

Step 5
Pour boiling water over the currants. To do this, I set the prepared water to boil in a kettle; while it was boiling, I mashed the berries. Mix.

Step 6

Step 6
Place the dishes on the fire and bring to a boil, but under no circumstances boil! We wait for the first bubbles and turn off the heating. This way we will retain maximum benefits in the finished drink.

Step 7

Step 7
Now we need to strain the fruit drink through a sieve. Don’t throw away the remaining cake, you can also make fruit juice with it, just use less water.

Step 8

Step 8
Fruit juice can be consumed both hot and cold. We prefer a cold drink. Itʼs good to drink hot when you have a cold. Bon appetit!
