Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make shrimp canapés? Prepare your food. Shrimp are usually sold already boiled. They just need to be defrosted and cleaned. Or you can put them frozen in boiling water for a couple of minutes. Clean the finished shrimp from the shell, tail and entrails. For an appetizer, medium-sized shrimp are suitable, since the canapés should be small, one bite.

Step 2

Step 2
Option number one. This is the most common combination of shrimp canapés: with fresh cucumber. For the sauce here, I use a ready-made one with herbs and cucumbers, but you can make your own sauce by mixing chopped fresh herbs with mayonnaise and adding a little lemon juice. Assemble canapés — sliced cucumber, sauce, shrimp. Also, a variation with this set allows the use of bread — bread, sauce, cucumber, sauce, shrimp.

Step 3

Step 3
Option number two. It turns out very tasty and original. For the base of these canapés, use a saltine cracker. You can finely chop fresh dill, or you can decorate with whole small sprigs. Spread the cracker generously with cream cheese (in general, the quantity and thickness of the ingredients is entirely up to your taste), sprinkle with chopped dill and place one or two peeled shrimp.

Step 4

Step 4
Option three. Here you will need special skewers for canapés. Iʼll use bran bread, but you can use plain white, toast bread or baguette. Using canape cutters (or a knife), cut it into small pieces. Wash the tomatoes and cut them in half so that the stem is at the bottom. Spread cream cheese on the bread, put half a tomato, more cheese, half a tomato. Secure everything with a skewer and garnish with shrimp.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the finished canapés on a dish or stand from which it will be convenient to take them. Serve chilled. Bon appetit!
