Basic:

Onion 2 pc
Salt to taste
Mayonnaise 3 tbsp
Ketchup 3 tbsp
Mackerel 1 pc

How to bake mackerel pieces in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Peel the onion and rinse in cold water. Mackerel can be used either fresh or frozen. Remove the frozen one from the freezer in advance and let it defrost at room temperature.

Cut off the head of the fish and remove the entrails. Rinse it in water and pat lightly with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut the cleaned fish into pieces.

For the marinade, mix mayonnaise with ketchup. Add salt to taste. Coat each piece of fish with the mixture. Leave the fish to marinate for 1 hour. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.

Cut the peeled onion into half rings. To prevent the onion from stinging your eyes when slicing, rinse it and the knife with cold water.

Place fish pieces in a baking dish.

Place chopped onion between the fish pieces. Brush the top of the fish and onions with the remaining marinade. Place the dish with the fish in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for about 30 minutes until a beautiful golden crust appears.
