Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake chicken roll with cheese in the oven? Prepare your food. Take two large chicken fillets or three small ones. Choose any hard cheese, but of good quality, without milk fat substitutes. Any mayonnaise is also suitable: fatty, non-fat, garlic, quail egg, etc. You can make your own mayonnaise. Or even replace it with sour cream, reducing the calorie content of the dish.

Step 2

Step 2
Rinse the fillet, cut off the films and veins from it, cut in half almost to the end and unfold. Be careful not to tear or cut the meat, otherwise the cheese filling will leak out during cooking.

Step 3

Step 3
Beat the fillet thoroughly with a meat mallet, being careful not to tear it! You can cover the fillet with cling film and beat through it — this will prevent the meat juice from splashing.

Step 4

Step 4
Salt and pepper each fillet to your taste, place them overlapping each other, making sure that one edge of the fillet overlaps the other. Then, when you roll the fillet into a roll, the filling will not come out. If desired, you can use other seasonings or spices: ground red pepper, ground paprika, dried garlic powder, a mixture of herbs.

Step 5

Step 5
Brush each fillet with mayonnaise. This sauce must be added, since the meat contains virtually no fat and may taste dry when cooked. Mayonnaise helps make the dish more juicy.

Step 6

Step 6
Grate the hard cheese on a fine-mesh grater and place on the chicken fillet. Wash the greens, dry them, then chop them. Place it on the cheese layer.

Step 7

Step 7
Roll the filled fillet into a roll, trying to be careful so that the filling does not fall out. You can roll it either from the short side or from the wide side — in the first case the roll will be thicker.

Step 8

Step 8
Place the workpiece on foil and wrap it tightly. Place the foil-wrapped roll on a baking sheet. Bake it in the oven at 220°C for about 25-30 minutes. 5-10 minutes before cooking, open the foil and let the dish bake until golden brown.

Step 9

Step 9
Place the hot roll on a board or plate and be sure to let it cool. Only then cut into pieces. If desired, the hot roll can be greased with sauce: mayonnaise, garlic sauce to make its surface softer and juicier.

Step 10

Step 10
Place the chicken roll on a plate garnished with fresh herbs and serve chilled. This dish is suitable for any side dish, it can be served as a holiday snack on the table.
