Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a salad of fresh sorrel with onions? Prepare all the products that are listed. The amount of greens and cucumbers can be adjusted to your own taste. Lettuce leaves, sorrel, young (like mine) or green onions, celery stalk, cucumber, rinse thoroughly.

Step 2

Step 2
Dry the lettuce leaves with paper napkins so that no moisture remains on them. What lettuce leaves can I use? Great options include romaine, lettuce, lolo rossa, corn or iceberg. Tear the leaves into small fragments with your hands. Place in a deep salad bowl.

Step 3

Step 3
Dry the sorrel and cut off the stems. Cut the leaves into wide strips. Chop the celery into thin slices. Place everything in a salad bowl.

Step 4

Step 4
Cut the cucumber in half and then chop into thin semicircles or quarters. If the cucumber is ripe, first cut off the peel. Cut the white part of the young onion into thin rings, and the green part as desired. By the way, if you take red onions, the finished dish will look brighter. You can use green onions. Add cucumber and onion to all ingredients in salad bowl.

Step 5

Step 5
Make a flavorful dressing. Pour apple or wine vinegar and olive or vegetable oil into a deep small bowl. Add mild mustard, garlic powder and ground allspice. Mix everything thoroughly until smooth.

Step 6

Step 6
Pour mustard dressing over the prepared salad.

Step 7

Step 7
Sprinkle ground paprika on top if desired and salt to taste.

Step 8

Step 8
Mix the salad well so that the dressing is evenly distributed throughout all components. Ready!

Step 9

Step 9
I usually serve this salad with fish or chicken. It is light and goes well with them. I also sometimes offer salad as an independent snack. This is especially true on hot days.
