Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a salad with layers of tomatoes and cheese? Prepare your food. Take medium-sized tomatoes, strong, but ripe, sweet — these are the ones that, in combination with cheese, will give the best flavor combination. The same applies to cheese — choose tasty cheese, not bland. The amount of mayonnaise and garlic is approximate; here, rely on your taste. You can make your own mayonnaise. You will find recipes for homemade mayonnaise after the last step.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash and dry the tomatoes. Cut each one in half, using a sharp knife to cut out the place where the stalk attaches. Cut each half into slices. Donʼt make them too thin, the tomatoes should be felt in the salad. Try to make the pieces of the same thickness — then the salad will look neater and more aesthetically pleasing.

Step 3

Step 3
Grate the cheese on a medium grater. You can use coarse cheese, but I prefer finely grated cheese — it makes the salad more tender.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the garlic and pass through a press into a cup of mayonnaise. Stir. Transfer the garlic mayonnaise to a piping bag. You don’t have to do this, but with a bag, the mayonnaise consumption will be minimal. If you like juicier salads, then spread the mayonnaise with a spoon.

Step 5

Step 5
This salad can be served in a transparent salad bowl, portioned bowls or on a plate laid out through a cooking ring. Place the ring on a plate. Place grated cheese as the first layer. Place tomato slices on it in a circle, filling all the space. Using a bag, make a mayonnaise net over the tomatoes. Or just spread it with a spoon.

Step 6

Step 6
Repeat layers — grated cheese, tomato slices, mayonnaise. I did one repetition, you can increase the number of layers.

Step 7

Step 7
Place the remaining cheese on the top layer and smooth it out with a spoon. You can decorate it with a mesh of mayonnaise, slices of tomatoes, and herbs. Place the salad in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to soak.

Step 8

Step 8
Then carefully remove the ring and serve. Bon appetit!
