How to make radish salad with mayonnaise? Prepare the ingredients needed for cooking. The radish used in this salad is black, but you can also use green radish.

Take the radish and rinse thoroughly with a stiff brush or washcloth under running water. Thinly cut off the black skin with a sharp knife. Grate the white pulp of the peeled radish on a coarse grater. Place the chopped radish in a large bowl.

Next, you can use the radish for the salad as it is, fresh, but in this case it will have a strong pungent taste and smell. To soften it, pour boiling water over the radish for 10-15 minutes. The radish will become significantly more delicate and softer in taste.

Peel the onions and cut into quarters of rings of medium thickness. Place the onion in a bowl and pour boiling water over it for 5 minutes. This will soften the taste of the onion and remove the bitterness from it. You donʼt have to do this if you wish. If you use purple onions for the salad, which are characterized by their lack of bitterness, then of course you don’t need to pour boiling water over them.

Squeeze the radish thoroughly, place the onion in a strainer and when all the water has drained, add to the salad. Salt the salad, add ground black pepper to taste, add sour cream and mayonnaise. Gently stir the dish. If you wish, you can season the salad with only mayonnaise or only sour cream. You can make homemade mayonnaise for the salad. Choose natural sour cream without vegetable fats.

In general, the radish salad with mayonnaise is ready to serve. But it will be much tastier if you put it in the refrigerator for several hours. The radish and especially the onion will be “marinated” in a mixture of mayonnaise, sour cream, salt, pepper and the dish will become tastier and richer. Wash fresh herbs, shake and chop finely. Sprinkle the finished salad with chopped herbs. You can use any greens for this salad; parsley or dill are perfect.
