How to make celery root salad with apple? Prepare your ingredients. You can make your own mayonnaise. You will find the recipes after the last step. The celery root should be intact, without signs of rot and dense. The apple should also be fresh, preferably sweet and sour in taste. To make the salad milder in taste, add boiled eggs, and for spiciness a little green onions. In general, you can add vegetables or meat products to your taste.

Wash the celery root, dry it and peel off the tough skin. Then cut the root into very thin, not long strips. Of course, you can grate it on a coarse grater, it will be faster. But I prefer to cut it thinly for the reason that the vegetable does not wrinkle and remains juicy much longer.

Also cut the apple into thin strips, as well as the celery root. But since the apple darkens very quickly, prepare a bowl of cold water and add one tablespoon of 6% vinegar to it. Place each sliced apple in a bowl of water, submerging them completely. If you grated the celery root, then you will also need to grate the apple so that the structure of the salad is the same.

Once the entire apple has been cut, remove it from the water and pat dry quickly with a paper towel. Add apple julienne to chopped celery root.

Add mayonnaise to the bowl with the salad, mix thoroughly and let stand for about 5 minutes. If you don’t like mayonnaise or you can’t have it, season the salad with sour cream or natural yogurt. And for the lean version, you can use a mixture of vegetable oil, soy sauce, mustard, lemon juice and sugar. It will also be very tasty.
