Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
We prepare the necessary products according to the list. How to buy crab sticks correctly? Be sure to pay attention to the expiration date of the product. Surimi meat (minced white fish) should be listed first in the ingredients list. Important! Do not buy the product if there is frost on it. This is a sign of re-freezing. Fresh sticks should be free of gray and yellow spots, elastic and slightly moist. If the product is sticky, it means it is spoiled.

Step 2

Step 2
Choose tomatoes that are juicy but firm. Soft fruits do not hold their shape well. If you are using the cocktail variety, simply cut them in half. Cut large tomatoes into small cubes or strips. Be sure to drain the juice formed from slicing; it will add excess liquid to the salad. If the tomato skin is too thick, it is better to remove it. To do this, immerse the tomatoes in hot water for a few seconds. Make cross cuts on top with a knife. Remove the skin.

Step 3

Step 3
Thaw frozen crab sticks in advance. Without removing the packaging, place them on a cutting board and let them thaw. Now remove the film. If it doesnʼt unwind well, hold the sticks over the steam for 1-3 seconds. Now cut them into medium sized rings.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the garlic cloves, pass through a press or chop as finely as possible with a knife. Adjust the amount of garlic to your taste. Mix with mayonnaise in a separate plate.

Step 5

Step 5
Combine crab sticks and tomatoes in a large salad bowl. Season with mayonnaise. Salt and pepper to taste. Stir gently. Prepare the bowls in advance. They should be washed and dried well. Arrange the salad. Garnish with a sprig of dill, parsley, cilantro or basil leaves. The salad can be served in a common salad bowl, but in portioned containers the dish will look more impressive and more festive.
