Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make ham from chicken in a ham maker? Prepare the products according to the list. The meat should be well cooled; it will be even more convenient to cut it. I take meat from drumsticks and thighs and chicken fillet — an equal amount of everything. Remove the skin, veins, bones — everything. Select spices according to your taste.

Step 2

Step 2
Remove skin and bones from the drumsticks and thighs and cut into small pieces about 1*1 cm.

Step 3

Step 3
Pass the chicken fillet through a meat grinder. You can use a grille with medium holes.

Step 4

Step 4
Now transfer all the meat into a large bowl in which it will be convenient to mix it. Add salt and pepper to taste. Favorite spices and herbs. I add ground paprika for color — the ham is not so pale.

Step 5

Step 5
If possible, mix the mixture using a mixer or food processor. It needs to become homogeneous. And try to keep the meat chilled. If the warmth of your hands makes it warm, put it in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to cool.

Step 6

Step 6
Place the springs on the bottom lid of the ham maker and place it on the table so that it does not fidget and the springs do not fly out. Then they can rip the bag and all the juice will leak out, but we don’t want that. Line the ham pan with a baking sleeve or a food bag. Take with reserve so that the edges of the bag hang well on the sides.

Step 7

Step 7
Transfer the meat mixture to the ham dish. Compact it very well so that there are no voids inside.

Step 8

Step 8
Fold the edges of the bag, cover the top with a lid, and place the springs into the holes in the top of the device. Now the ham needs to be put in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours. Ideally overnight. If you are not in a hurry, let the semi-finished product cool longer.

Step 9

Step 9
Next, take a large saucepan — we want the water to cover the ham while it cooks. Fill the device with water and let it boil. Then reduce the heat, the water should not boil. If you have a thermometer, measure the water — the temperature should not exceed 85 degrees. Cook the ham for 2.5 hours.

Step 10

Step 10
When the cooking time has passed, remove the ham from the pan and place it in a container of cold water for about 10 minutes to allow it to cool. Then, without disassembling the ham maker, place it in the refrigerator for 6-7 hours so that the ham in it cools thoroughly. Then it will thicken and cut very well.

Step 11

Step 11
This is what the finished ham looks like after chilling in the refrigerator overnight. Itʼs thick and smells amazing!

Step 12

Step 12
As you can see, the ham cuts wonderfully. It does not crumble, is juicy and very aromatic. No store-bought sausage can ever compare with homemade ham! You can always give this meat product to your child for a sandwich at school and you will be confident in its quality. And kids won’t refuse such sausage)
