Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make waffle cakes with minced meat? Prepare all ingredients from the given list. It is best to use fresh minced meat so that it is denser in the end. After defrosting, the minced meat becomes watery. Waffle cakes are suitable for any shape: round, square, rectangular. Supermarkets sell portioned cakes that do not need to be cut. Use refined vegetable oil.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel, rinse and dry the onion with a napkin. Cut it into small pieces. If the minced meat is quite dense, the onion can be chopped in a meat grinder or in a blender. In this case, the onion juice will make the minced meat a little moist.

Step 3

Step 3
I prefer to cook minced meat myself. For this purpose, I bought chilled chicken fillet and chopped it in a meat grinder. For meat filling, pork, beef, and poultry are suitable. You can prepare mixed minced meat. Add chopped onion, salt and ground black pepper to the minced meat. Mix well.

Step 4

Step 4
Place a portion of the meat filling on the first waffle cake (diameter 22 cm) and spread it in a thin layer throughout the cake. For one cake it took me 2.5 heaped tablespoons of filling.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the second cake layer on top and press it down lightly with your hand. Add the meat filling and spread in a thin layer.

Step 6

Step 6
Attach the third cake layer. Press down a little with your hands so that it fits snugly to the layer of minced meat. At this stage, I wanted to finish assembling the cake, because I was worried that it would not be fried, but I decided to take a risk, since its height turned out to be very small and besides, I still had the meat filling and waffle cakes.

Step 7

Step 7
Place the meat filling on the third cake layer and spread it into a thin layer with a spoon.

Step 8

Step 8
Apply and press down the fourth wafer layer slightly. Place the remaining filling, just 2.5 tablespoons left. Smooth out into a thin layer.

Step 9

Step 9
Place the fifth wafer layer and press lightly with your palm. I used 5 pieces from the factory packaging (7 cake layers). Cut the assembled waffle cake into portions. I got 8 pieces.

Step 10

Step 10
Now itʼs time to prepare the batter. Beat medium-sized eggs into a deep plate. Pour in water. Add salt to taste. Shake with a fork until smooth. This number of eggs is just enough to fry all the preparations.

Step 11

Step 11
Dip the waffle piece in the batter. Help yourself with a fork, as the minced meat becomes soft when exposed to moisture.

Step 12

Step 12
5-7 minutes before frying, pour oil into the pan and place over medium heat. Reheat. Reduce the flame to the lowest setting. Lay out the waffle blanks. Cover with a lid. Fry for 4-5 minutes until golden brown on one side. Be careful not to burn. You may need a little more or less time for the pieces to brown. How to choose a frying pan and oil, read the articles at the end of this recipe.

Step 13

Step 13
Turn the waffle pieces over to the other side. Cover with a lid and continue frying for 4-5 minutes on the lowest heat.

Step 14

Step 14
After frying, drain on paper towels to remove any remaining oil.

Step 15

Step 15
Waffle cakes with minced meat in a frying pan are ready. Bon appetit!
