Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake stuffed tomatoes with cheese and garlic in the oven? To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Choose tomatoes that are even, juicy, but dense and strong. Soft fruits do not hold their shape well; during cutting and cooking, they will spread into a shapeless mass and spoil the appearance of the dish. If you want the dish to look impressive, choose tomatoes on a branch so that the green stalk is preserved.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the tomatoes and dry them. Cut off the tops and carefully, being careful not to damage the walls, remove all the pulp. This can be done with a regular teaspoon or a special noisette spoon. I did not save the cut-out pulp, since it consisted almost entirely of seeds, but if you have pulp left over from the internal partitions of the vegetable, you can chop it and add it to the filling.

Step 3

Step 3
Boil the eggs hard, cool, peel and grate on a coarse grater.

Step 4

Step 4
Also grate the cheese on a coarse grater. You can use any cheese you like. Mozzarella, Gouda or regular Russian will do.

Step 5

Step 5
Wash the greens, dry and finely chop. In addition to dill, you can use parsley, green onions or cilantro.

Step 6

Step 6
In a bowl, combine the tomato pulp, grated eggs and cheese, sour cream, dill and pressed garlic.

Step 7

Step 7
Season the filling with salt and pepper and mix well.

Step 8

Step 8
Fill the tomatoes with the prepared egg and cheese filling. To make the appetizer more impressive, the filling should rise above the tomatoes.

Step 9

Step 9
Cover the stuffed tomatoes with the previously cut caps. Transfer the vegetables to a greased baking dish. Place in an oven preheated to 180°C and bake for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese melts. The exact time depends on your oven. It is very important not to overcook the tomatoes in the oven, otherwise the walls may burst, all the juice will leak out, and the fruits themselves will lose their shape.

Step 10
Transfer the finished tomatoes to a plate and serve hot. A delicious snack is ready! Bon appetit!
