Tandoor Chicken with Creamy Marinade

Very tasty, bright and appetizing, for lunch or dinner. Chicken with mayonnaise in the tandoor is a great option to cook poultry meat outdoors. Instead of mayonnaise, you can use sour cream or use vegetable oil, the chicken will still turn out very tasty!

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make chicken with mayonnaise in tandoor? Prepare all the necessary products. Mayonnaise can be replaced with sour cream or you can make a sauce from sour cream and mayonnaise in a ratio of 50 to 50. You can take the whole chicken carcass or its individual parts. This time I used chicken thighs. Rinse the chicken and dry it with napkins to remove any remaining moisture.

Step 2

Step 2
Prepare the marinade. Place mayonnaise, pressed garlic and aromatic spices into a deep container. The set of seasonings can be anything you like. I used ground paprika, allspice and a pinch of salt. Mix everything thoroughly.

Step 3

Step 3
Add mayonnaise to the chicken. Stir and leave to marinate for at least an hour. I sometimes leave it in the refrigerator on the bottom shelf overnight. The longer the bird marinates, the tastier it will be.

Step 4

Step 4
Place lard, cut into thin slices, on the bottom of the mold. You can omit lard from the recipe and use a little vegetable or olive oil.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the onion in the mold.

Step 6

Step 6
Place marinated chicken in an even layer on top.

Step 7

Step 7
Heat the tandoor. When the walls of the tandoor are thoroughly warmed up and there is a sufficient amount of coal left, proceed to the main stage of cooking.

Step 8

Step 8
Place the molds on a special rack.

Step 9

Step 9
Place everything in the tandoor, cover with a lid and bake until done. Cooking time depends on the tandoor model and the degree of heat inside. It took me about 40-50 minutes for the chicken to cook completely. After 20 minutes of simmering in the tandoor, I swapped the ramekins so that the bird would cook evenly.
