Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
Letʼs prepare the ingredients according to the list. We wash the beef liver under running water, remove the film by making a small cut lengthwise and pulling it off with your finger. We cut the liver into small pieces, cut it into several layers, fold them in a pile and cut them along the middle, and then crosswise into pieces. If the liver is dark red in color, you can soak it in milk for about an hour. A good product will have a color ranging from dark red to brown.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the onions and cut them into halves of rings or cubes. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan with a thick bottom. Letʼs warm it up. Place the prepared onions in the oil. Fry it until transparent.

Step 3

Step 3
Roll the beef liver in flour, place it in a frying pan with the onions, fry it until lightly browned, stirring occasionally with a spatula so that the liver is fried on all sides until golden brown.

Step 4

Step 4
Place sour cream in a bowl, add salt and ground black pepper. It is better to take sour cream with a high percentage of fat content and thick. If desired, you can add any other spices. Pour water into the bowl with sour cream, stir until the mixture is homogeneous in consistency.

Step 5

Step 5
Pour the sour cream sauce into the pan with the liver and stir. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes. Then remove the lid, stir and simmer without a lid for about 7 minutes so that the sauce thickens a little. Turn off the heat and sprinkle with chopped fresh herbs.

Step 6

Step 6
Serve the liver immediately to the table while the dish is hot, optionally with a side dish, such as stewed vegetables. It turns out doubly useful, but not very high in calories. Bon appetit!
