Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake a turkey thigh in foil in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients for the dish. Instead of the thigh, you can use another part of the turkey of your choice. But keep in mind that cooking time and calorie content will change. You can replace lime juice with lemon or orange juice.

Step 2

Step 2
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, vegetable oil, freshly squeezed lime juice and liquid honey. Beat everything thoroughly with a fork until smooth. If you have candied honey, first melt it in the microwave or in a water bath.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the turkey thigh and dry it. Sprinkle with poultry spices, salt and pepper, rubbing into the meat. When adding soy sauce to a dish, it is worth considering that it has a fairly salty taste. Reduce the total amount of salt, otherwise you risk oversalting.

Step 4

Step 4
Pour the marinade over the meat. Place the turkey to marinate in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours or overnight. Turn the turkey occasionally to ensure it marinates evenly. If there is absolutely no time, it is enough to marinate the meat for 1 hour at room temperature. About half an hour before cooking, turn the oven to 180 degrees.

Step 5

Step 5
Transfer the turkey to a baking dish. Then pour out the marinade or part of it. When baked, the marinade will thicken a little and can be used as a sauce.

Step 6

Step 6
Cover the pan with foil. To prevent the crust from sticking to the foil when you unwrap the bird, be careful not to let the foil touch it. Bake the bird in an oven preheated to 180℃ for about 1 hour or longer until done. The exact time depends on your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. You can also read about how to choose foil and shape in separate articles using the links at the end of the recipe.

Step 7

Step 7
Then remove the foil and return the turkey to the oven for another 30 minutes until golden brown, periodically brushing the bird with juice from the bottom of the pan. The meat should be well cooked everywhere, especially near the bone. If you pierce the meat with a knife, the juice should run clear.

Step 8

Step 8
Place the turkey thigh on a platter and serve with any side dish. I served it with roasted potatoes. Bon appetit!
