Ingredients (2 portions)

For the test::

Milk 250 ml
Dry yeast 7 g
Sugar 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Eggs 1 pc
Butter 50 g
Wheat flour 2.5 cup
Vegetable oil 3 tbsp

For filling::

Ketchup 2 tbsp
Mayonnaise 2 tbsp
Champignon 200 g
Ham 200 g
Tomatoes 150 g
Hard cheese 100 g

How to make thick American style pizza? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Heat the milk until warm so that the dry yeast starts working faster.

In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and butter. Wait for the butter to melt. Donʼt make the milk too hot — this will kill the yeast.

Add egg, salt, sugar and dry yeast to the bowl. Stir.

Sift the flour through a sieve to saturate it with oxygen. Then gradually add flour to the bowl and knead the dough. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the consistency of the finished dough.

When the dough almost stops sticking to your hands, do not add any more flour. Add a little vegetable oil and knead the dough with your hands. The finished dough is soft and tender. Cover the bowl with the dough with a towel and place in a warm place for 1 hour to rise.

For the filling, wash the mushrooms and cut them into slices. Cut the ham into cubes. For the sauce, mix ketchup and mayonnaise.

Cut the tomatoes into slices. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

After an hour, the dough had noticeably increased in size. Divide it into 2 parts. From this we will get two pizzas.

Roll out the dough into a circle, approximately 25-30 cm. Grease the surface of the dough with mayonnaise sauce.

Sprinkle the dough with cheese and arrange the chopped champignons.

Add ham and tomatoes. Sprinkle some more cheese on top. Add a couple of pinches of dried Italian herbs. Place the pizza in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 20-25 minutes. When baking, use your oven as a guide.
