Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake a turkey drumstick in foil? Prepare the necessary ingredients. The size and weight of the drumsticks depends on the age of the bird. I had one drumstick weighing a little over 1 kg. But you can replace it with two weighing 500 g. It doesn’t matter. Instead of individual spices, you can use a pre-made turkey spice blend (or chicken in a pinch). But keep in mind that the finished mixture already contains salt and pepper, so you need to add additional salt/pepper to the meat with caution.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the turkey drumstick and dry it with paper towels or napkins.

Step 3

Step 3
Melt the butter in the microwave or in a water bath.

Step 4

Step 4
Add paprika, curry, dry garlic, ground pepper and salt to the melted butter. Mix everything. You can replace dry garlic with 2-3 cloves of fresh garlic, passed through a press. However, it is worth considering that pieces of fresh garlic may burn after unrolling the foil. Therefore, when baking meat in a marinade, I usually replace fresh garlic with dry garlic. I use fresh cloves for stuffing.

Step 5

Step 5
Rub the drumstick with oil marinade and spices and leave for 20-30 minutes. Gradually the oil will begin to harden and the marinade will stick tightly to the drumstick.

Step 6

Step 6
Place the turkey on a large double sheet of foil, coat with any remaining marinade from the plate, and wrap tightly to prevent any juices from escaping during baking.

Step 7

Step 7
Place the drumstick in foil on a baking sheet or in a baking dish and place in an oven preheated to 180-190°C for 1 hour.

Step 8

Step 8
Then unfold the foil and bake the drumstick for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown. If desired, you can drizzle the juice from the bottom of the pan over the meat.

Step 9

Step 9
Transfer the finished shin to a plate, cut into portions and serve with a side dish. I served the turkey with a side dish of braised red cabbage and plums. Bon appetit!
