Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake turkey fillet with prunes in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. I used thigh fillet, this meat turns out a little softer and fattier. But you can replace it with breast fillet. If you have frozen meat, defrost it first. Read about all the intricacies of proper defrosting in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Take prunes without pits.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the turkey, dry it, remove the films if necessary. Cut the meat into medium pieces.

Step 3

Step 3
Rinse the prunes. It is best to check prunes for the absence of seeds or their fragments, because it very often happens that their particles remain in the fruit and this is discovered in the midst of a meal and sometimes with not the best consequences for the teeth. Therefore, it is better to check everything in advance. If the prunes are too hard, you can pour boiling water over them and leave for 10 minutes. Then drain the water and dry the dried fruits on a towel.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the garlic. Cut large cloves lengthwise into 2-3 pieces. Small ones can be left whole.

Step 5

Step 5
In a bowl, combine turkey fillet and prunes. Add vegetable oil, honey, salt and pepper. It is better to take liquid or semi-liquid honey, which has not yet had time to completely sugar and harden. Then it will spread better through the meat. If the honey has hardened, it is better to first melt it in the microwave or oven and cool it.

Step 6

Step 6
Mix everything and leave the meat to marinate for 2 hours in the refrigerator or 1 hour at room temperature. Half an hour before cooking, turn on the oven to 180 degrees.

Step 7

Step 7
Place the turkey and prunes in a baking dish. Place garlic cloves on top. Read about how to choose a baking dish in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe. Bake the turkey at 180°C for about 40 minutes until golden brown. Baste the turkey occasionally with any juices from the bottom of the pan. The exact time depends on your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

Step 8

Step 8
Serve turkey with prunes with any side dish. Bon appetit!
