Oven-Baked Chicken Heart Skewers

Unusual and very tasty, easy to cook at home! Appetizing shashlik of chicken hearts, cooked in the oven on skewers in a minimum of time. The marinade based on soy sauce, tomato paste and honey gives the kebabs a special taste.

Basic:

Chicken hearts 500 g

Marinade:

Ground black pepper to taste
Honey 1 tbsp
Tomato paste 2 tbsp
Apple vinegar 1 tsp
Soy sauce 3 tbsp

How to make shish kebab from chicken hearts? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Choose larger chicken hearts with the least amount of fat. Honey needs to be liquid, not sugared. If your honey is candied, then melt it first and cool it to room temperature. You can replace tomato paste with ketchup.

Rinse the chicken hearts thoroughly and dry.

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, ketchup, honey, vinegar and ground black pepper and mix well until smooth. It is more convenient to do this with a whisk.

Place chicken hearts in the marinade and let them marinate for about 1 hour at room temperature. If possible, marinate in the refrigerator overnight.

Soak wooden skewers in water for 30-40 minutes. They will swell a little and this will protect them from burning.

Thread chicken hearts onto skewers. You can string the hearts lengthwise or crosswise, like mine. By stringing hearts crosswise on skewers, you will get more hearts.

Place the resulting skewers on the edges of a parchment-lined baking pan or on a baking sheet. Brush the tops of the hearts with the remaining marinade. Bake chicken heart skewers in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 30 minutes, periodically brushing the hearts with marinade from a bowl. You can still keep the finished hearts on the grill for about 5 minutes. Determine the baking time and temperature based on your oven.

Transfer the finished kebabs to a dish lined with lettuce leaves and serve. You can prepare a quick tomato sauce for the kebabs: grate one tomato on a fine grater and mix with finely chopped cilantro. Bon appetit!
