Easy Skillet Suluguni Flatbreads

Delicious, flaky, without unnecessary hassle — what could be better! Flatbreads with suluguni are reminiscent of khachapuri, only they are prepared much simpler and more interesting. The rolled out dough is sprinkled with cheese, rolled up and cut into pieces. And from them flat cakes are made. Fry them in a dry frying pan.

Suluguni 200 g

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make flatbreads with suluguni cheese on kefir in a frying pan? Prepare your food. Kefir is suitable for any fat content; take it out of the refrigerator in advance — the dough is kneaded better in warm liquid. Take refined, odorless oil. It may take more or less flour than the specified amount, you will look at the dough.

Step 2

Step 2
First of all, prepare the dough. How to make the dough? Pour kefir into a bowl, then beat in the egg. Shake it well with a fork in kefir.

Step 3

Step 3
Take about half the flour, add salt and baking powder to it, mix. Pour the flour into the liquid part, stir lightly with a fork. Pour in vegetable oil. Knead the dough. It will still be liquid, since we added half the flour. Start adding the remaining flour little by little while continuing to knead the dough. Read more about the properties of flour, as well as the nuances of using baking powder, in separate articles using the links at the end of the recipe.

Step 4

Step 4
When it becomes inconvenient to stir with a fork, start kneading with your hands. The dough will gradually begin to become homogeneous and stop sticking to your hands. When this happens, stop adding flour. Gather the dough into a ball, place it in a bowl and cover with a towel. Leave the dough to stand for 30 minutes — during this time the flour will absorb the remaining liquid, gluten will develop in it and the dough will become more elastic and easy to work with.

Step 5

Step 5
While the dough is resting, prepare the cheese. Grate it on a coarse grater.

Step 6

Step 6
Roll out the rested dough on a table sprinkled with flour into a thin layer 3mm thick.

Step 7

Step 7
Sprinkle the layer with cheese.

Step 8

Step 8
Roll into a tight roll along the long side.

Step 9

Step 9
Cut into equal pieces approximately 5-6cm wide. I divided the dough in half and worked with half. One part yielded 8 pieces.

Step 10

Step 10
Dip the cut pieces into flour, place it vertically and roll it into a thin cake.

Step 11

Step 11
Heat a heavy-bottomed frying pan over medium heat. Place the flatbread on it. Read about how to choose the perfect frying pan in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

Step 12

Step 12
Fry it on both sides until golden brown, then remove it to a plate. The hot cake can be greased with butter. Fry all the tortillas in this manner.

Step 13

Step 13
Serve the flatbreads with kefir or tea. Bon appetit!
