Remove the dough from the freezer in advance to defrost. Pecans can be replaced with cheaper walnuts. This, of course, will be a little different, but still delicious.

First, prepare the filling. Finely chop the nuts. You can take either more or a little less nuts. Turn the oven on 180 degrees.

Place the chopped nuts in a bowl, pour in the maple syrup and stir.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into 12x12cm squares.

Make several slanting cuts along the edges of each square.

To ensure a golden brown crust, at the end of baking, I brushed the puff pastries with maple syrup again, when the dough had already risen and strengthened.
