Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make red fish rolls? Prepare your food. You can take any red fish, lightly salted, like mine, or smoked. Choose puff pastry according to your taste: store-bought, homemade, yeast or not.

Step 2

Step 2
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Finely chop the fresh dill. Mix cheese and dill in a bowl. Add a tablespoon of rich sour cream. Mix the mixture well; this will serve as a base for the main fish filling.

Step 3

Step 3
Roll out the finished puff pastry to a thickness of 0.6-0.7 cm. Cut it into elongated triangles, it’s easy — look at the photo. Place the cheese filling on the wide part and one or two pieces of red fish on top. Roll the dough into rolls.

Step 4

Step 4
Place the rolls on baking paper in a baking dish or baking tray. It is not necessary to oil the paper. In a separate bowl, beat the raw egg yolk with a fork and brush the surface of the rolls with it. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

Step 5

Step 5
Take dry poppy seeds. Sprinkle egg-brushed rolls with poppy seeds (optional: cumin, sesame). Place the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until they have risen and browned.
